The Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute is a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense. The SEI, advances software engineering principles and practices and serves as a national resource in software solutions, emerging technologies, acquisition, and cybersecurity. The SEI works with defense and government organizations, industry, and academia to improve software-intensive systems.
