Description

Since the mid-1990s, network-centric/cyber warfare has been the driving force behind the design, procurement, and fielding of Command and Control (C2) systems.  While highly successful the growth in telecommunications equipment, e.g. radios, computers, telephones, satellite systems, etc. dramatically increased the number of operators and training to support the need for more capability.  To meet the challenges of increased command and control requirements, new technology, and the need for security to protect Marine organizations, a new enlisted 06XX occupation is being created to develop cyber enabled Marines who provide the bridge or critical link to support MAGTF C2, Information Operations (IO), Information Warfare (IW), Cyber, and Electronic Warfare (EW to meet requirements of today and into the future.  This session will provide attendees with an update on how Marines are being organized and trained to meet command and control requirements.
