Overview
The DoD ESI’s mission is to lead in the establishment and management of enterprise Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) Information Technology (IT) agreements, assets, and policies for the purpose of lowering total cost of ownership across the DoD.
DoD ESI is an official Department of Defense initiative sponsored by the DoD Chief Information Officer (CIO) that assists information technology purchasers obtain the best value on commercial software, IT hardware, and services through various contract vehicles which include ESIs, ESLs, and CETAs (Core Enterprise Technology Agreements, which are ESI-based agreements for COTS products and capabilities that have been designated Best In Class, and are open to and mandatory for use by the DoD).
