CAPT Kristian Porter Kearton enlisted in the Navy as a Quarter Master 1990 and helped commission the USS ASHLAND (LSD-48). He is currently the Director Fleet Cyber Command Office of Compliance and Assessment (FCC OCA).
Previous tours include: Chief Staff Officer for NCTAMSLANT. N6A/KM for CCSG11; OIC for NCTL Detachment Rota, Spain; N6/C4I for COMDESRON 50; Chief Information Assurance (IA) Officer in charge of USPACOM’s Head Quarters Network Defense Branch, Certification and Accreditation Branch, Theater IA and Training Branch, and IA for Network Operations in the Theater Network Operations Center; Assistant Plans and Exercise Officer for Naval Ocean Processing Facility Whidbey Island; Navigation Department Head for USS MOUNT VERNON (LSD-39); and Repair Division Officer and Damage Control Officer for USS ANTIETAM (CG-54).
Additionally, CAPT Kearton earned a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, Master of Science in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School and Bachelor of Science in Weapons System Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
Professional Certifications include: Computer Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITILv3), Experienced Computer Forensics Examiner (ECFE), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and several other computer security related certifications.
Personal Military Awards include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Navy Commendation Medals, and Navy Achievement Medals. Personal and Team awards include 5th Annual AFCEA DC Armed Forces Leadership Award, 2010 and 2011 Outstanding GIG Facility of the Year Awards, 2010 and 2011 OSCAR Awards, 2006 Regional Distinguished Young AFCEAN Award, and 2005 Excellence in Federal Government – Team Award.
