Profile
Lieutenant Van Driessche is a native of Simi Valley, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Relations from the United States Naval Academy in 2013.
At sea, Van Driessche served aboard forward-deployed USS John McCain (DDG 56) as the Communications Officer and Auxiliary Officer. After earning a Second Tour Fleet Up assignment, he attended the Ballistic Missile Defense and Combat Systems Officer Course at the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center and returned to McCain as the Fire Control Officer.
He subsequently completed Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center’s (SMWDC) Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) course.
Van Driessche is currently assigned to the Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) Detachment San Diego as the IAMD Department Head and Course Supervisor for Advance Warfare Training.
His personal awards include selection as the Top Tactician for IAMD WTI Class 18010, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Korean Defense Medal, and various campaign and service awards.
