Description

2024 was an eventful year for carrier aviation, most acutely in the CENTCOM area of responsibility - operating in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. Carriers Eisenhower, Roosevelt, Lincoln, and Truman all conducted strikes against regional hostile forces in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen while also participating in Operation Prosperity Guardian, dedicated to keeping vital sea lanes open. Those operations were unique and unprecedented, and carrier strike groups demonstrated their worth against the threat, at once asymmetric and highly lethal. However, challenges lie ahead. This panel of carrier and aviation leaders will discuss operational capabilities, key priorities for the Naval Aviation Enterprise, weapons and platform capabilities, industry requirements, and more, all aimed at staying ahead of emerging threats.
