Description

Approved for 1 CompTIA CEUs: A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, Cloud+ and 1 GIAC CPE

Command, control, computers, communications, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance are all functions which are extremely dependent on accurate and timely information.   As a result, the enabling infrastructure and protections are essential to ensuring high quality actionable information which supports the OODA loop (observe-orient-decide-act).

Cybersecurity is needed to protect and maintain C5ISR systems and services in today's dynamic threat arenas, demanding quick response deployments of resources. The fixed theater C5ISR operations of past decades has been replaced with the requirement for mobile, networked systems and services, protected and ready to go.

This panel of experts will discuss challenges and threats affecting the C5ISR readiness of the nations forces and how many of the risks are directly tied to cybersecurity.

Topics will include

  • Secretary Of The Navy Cybersecurity Readiness ReviewMarch 2019
    • How does the readiness review inform your strategy?
    • In light of budget pressures for the 355 ship fleet, how will cybersecurity compete for resources?
    • Where does cybersecurity fit in the overall Department of the Navy priorities?
    • What are key indicators for assessing readiness in terms of protecting systems and services?
    • What has changed over the last five years?
    • Are the capabilities adequately integrated?  If not, why not?
    • What capabilities would speakers like to see matured or developed?
    • How might industry invest to meet evolving requirements?
  • How might artificial intelligence and/or machine language help with organizing and filtering the plethora of data for the user?
  • What is the best way to institutionalize building in cybersecurity from the start?
  • Risks of inaccurate data:
    • Timing
    • Geo-location
    • Targeting
    • Damage assessments
  • Potential threats
    • Physical damage to ground segment
    • Cyber and/or physical threat to space segment
    • Injection of false data
    • Blocking access to systems and/or data

Attendees can expect to hear about C5ISR readiness challenges, Department of the Navy priorities, and potential solutions.
